It was pomp, colours, joy and jamboree today as Ahmed Nasir Mohamed received a major political boost following his official endorsement by his immediate Reer Aaba Noor (Cisley) clan, one of the 12 sub-clans of the larger community during a well-attended ceremony in Baragothey, Hadado Sub-County, Wajir County.
The event brought together respected elders, religious leaders, professionals and women, all of whom spoke with one voice in backing Ahmed Nasir’s candidacy for the Wajir West parliamentary seat. The endorsement further cements his position as a formidable contender in the race.
In a powerful show of unity and political maturity, former Wagala/Ganyure Ward MCA, Abdi Ahmed Hassan, popularly known as Haji Abdinoor, formally stepped down from his bid and declared his full support for Ahmed Nasir significantly boosting his grassroots momentum.
With expectations of similar endorsements from across the wider R.M community in the coming months, the campaign continues to gather pace ahead of the anticipated launch of a full-scale bid for Wajir West Constituency. Ahmed Nasir is increasingly emerging as a strong and competitive contender, widely viewed as capable of unseating the incumbent.
