The Day My World Shifted.
The Introduction
A Lesson From Behind Bars - Why my phone is always LOCKED everywhere.
I never thought I'd see the inside of a prison cell, let alone for something I didn't even know was a crime. The day I was taken to remand prison marked a turning point in my life. It all started with what I thought was a lucky break: a second-hand phone (Mulika mwizi), going for just Ksh. 600, barely a week after I had been robbed at gunpoint and made away with my two phones, a macbook, rolex watch, diary, etc. I didn’t ask too many questions. I just wanted to be connected again.
But that one decision of buying a phone from a stranger without thinking twice, landed me in handcuffs, and on a police land cruiser (Machanda) headed straight to a place I believed was reserved for “real criminals.” That’s when reality hit me: prison doesn’t discriminate. You make the wrong move, even unknowingly, and the system will teach you a lesson you won’t forget. Like the president will always cunningly say..." Nimewa warn"
What I saw, what I felt, and what I learned behind those cold walls changed me forever.
