From Mbarara to Kampala and Jinja — we’ve been engaging with teachers across Uganda.

Through our recent workshops, we’ve listened, shared, and explored practical ways to support effective teaching and learning aligned with the Ugandan curriculum.

These sessions focused on real classroom challenges — from lesson planning to learner engagement — and introduced practical tools to make teaching easier and learning more meaningful.

One such tool is the Active Series, which offers step-by-step support, real-life application, and learner-focused activities.

A big thank you to all the teachers who joined us. Your insights are shaping how we continue to support education in Uganda.

At Oxford University Press, we believe in the power of education to transform lives. Every page turned is a step toward a brighter future. 📚💛

That’s why, in partnership with the Rotary Clubs of Karen, Ongata Rongai, Lavington, Nyeri, and Nairobi Industrial Area, we’ve donated books to a number of public primary and secondary schools.

Together, we’re opening doors to knowledge, inspiring dreams, and supporting both learners and teachers on their educational journey.

Struggling with learners who disrupt the class? Every teacher faces it at some point. But before reacting, take a moment to understand why it's happening. Here’s a simple step-by-step approach to help restore focus:

✅ Step 1: Find out why the learner is disrupting the class. Understanding the root cause is key.

✅ Step 2: Respond with the right solution based on the cause:

✋ They’ve finished early? Give them an extra task or ask them to help a peer.

✋ They’re bored by the lesson? Try new teaching strategies to re-engage them.

✋ They’re tired? Switch up the activity to give them a mental break.

✋ They don’t understand the work? Offer more support or extra practice activities.

Disruptions often signal a need. When we respond thoughtfully, we turn interruptions into opportunities for better learning. 💡

💬 Teachers, how do you handle disruptions in your class? Share your tips below!

🌍 Happy World Population Day!
Ever wondered how fast the world is growing?

📈 The global population increases by about 2.5 people every second — that’s roughly 220,000 new people every day!
Here’s the breakdown:
👶 4.3 births per second
⚰️ 1.8 deaths per second
➡️ Net increase = ~2.5 people every second

It’s a powerful reminder of how quickly our world is changing—and why understanding geography, population trends, and global development is more important than ever.

📚 At Oxford, we’re proud to contribute to this understanding through educational resources like the Oxford 360° Atlases, which equip learners with up-to-date data, maps, and insights into our ever-evolving world.
