Accompanied by Dr. Rikoi, C.O, Fisheries Development and Boru Jillo, Director Fisheries, I had a fruitful meeting with The Dutch Ambassador H.E Marteen Brouwer and officers from Lattice Aquaculture limited in Nairobi.

The meeting was on potential opportunities for collaboration on sustainable development of cold chain facilities in the Fisheries sector between the Dutch private sectors and the County Government of Marsabit. Lattice Aquaculture limited is exploring opportunity to set up a multi year development programme for the Fisheries sector in Marsabit County.

I appreciate this programme that will strengthen my Goveenment’s key flagship project of ultra modern fish factory and improving the livelihoods of the communities living around Lake Turkana.In addition, the programme will lead to nutritional improvements and enhanced local economic development in Marsabit.

The County Government is committed to collaborate with Development partners.

"Today, we are launching the Home Based Isolation and Care Guidelines, for Patients with COVID-19 which is available on the Ministry of Health website. This protocol has been developed to provide a solution in the management of the increasing numbers and the anticipated surge in the COVID-19 cases. Currently, according to the available data in our country, 78 per cent of the infected persons, admitted in our hospitals are either asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic, and therefore, can be managed at home provided proper laid down procedures are followed".-CAS Health

"In Kilifi, all the three (3) cases are from Rabai. In Machakos, all the three (3) cases are from Athi River, while in Taita Taveta, all the three (3) cases are of truck drivers at Taveta. In Kisumu, the two (2) cases are of truck drivers in Kisumu Central, while in Uasin Gishu, the one (1) case is of a truck driver in Turbo. Burundi's outgoing President Pierre Nkurunziza dies at the Karusi Fiftieth Anniversary Hospital following a cardiac arrest.

According to the country's government, Nkurunziza's death occurred on June 8, 2020.

His deaths comes a few days after Burundi's constitutional court upheld the election of retired general Evariste Ndayishimiye as the country's president-elect.
