This September, Anyango Nyar Siaya from Japan returns to Kenya to launch her book “ANYANGO NYAR SIAYA (Nyatiti Queen)” and perform in Nairobi and Kisumu.

Wednesday, 17 Sept – Book launch at Alliance Française de Nairobi (backed by Mak Adem)
Thursday, 18 Sept – Geco Cafe (backed by Makadem)
Saturday, 20 Sept – Dunga Hill Camp, Kisumu (backed by Sango Soul)

We are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking collaboration between Tabu Osusa (founding director of Ketebul Music, renowned producer, and researcher) and Andrew Eisenberg (Associate Professor of Music at NYU Abu Dhabi) to explore the fascinating history and cultural impact of rumba music across Central and East Africa.

As a pioneering figure who has both shaped and documented this musical tradition, Tabu brings unmatched expertise as the project's lead researcher, while Andrew contributes his scholarly perspective on music and cultural studies.

The project debuted at the 37th Swahili Colloquium at Bayreuth University in Germany.
Stay tuned for audio documentaries, scholarly articles, and multimedia content that will bring this vibrant musical heritage to audiences worldwide.
