SAHPRA has announced an urgent recall of Fertomid-50 tablets (batch no. GH21051) after Cipla South Africa detected out-of-specification levels of related substances during stability testing.

Fertomid-50, which contains clomiphene citrate, is a non-steroidal fertility drug that stimulates ovulation to aid pregnancy.

Cipla has instructed distributors, wholesalers, and retailers to stop selling or dispensing the affected batch, which is set to expire in October 2025.
