23rd to 25th August 2024, will be 3 days of action parked Rendille cultural performances during the Inaugural Rendille Food and Cultural Festival. Loglogo will play host to thousands of people who have already confirmed attendance. My friend Silas Gisiora Nyanchwani says that am the first Rendille he saw, and who previously thought that the Rendille were imaginary people in GHC books :) will also attend.

For amateur camel riders like my friend Gedhia Mamo you will get a chance to ride the same camel you did last year at the Maralal International Camel derby, but this time around, the camel will be running in a territory it is familiar to. Asbel Eisimonte come recite those poems of yours, this time around, in Rendille, the language of the heavens.

Come dance, sing the tunes of the dunes, and while at it, enjoy the Rendille traditional cuisine!

It was a huge success. Honored to have been part of the team that worked to pull off a global summit on Democracy held at Best Western Plus Meridian, amidst the current happenings in Kenya. The summit brought together youth (most of them Millennials and Gen - Z) from several parts of Africa, and discussed a myriad of topics. Am glad that we were able to make the sessions hybrid, allowing youth from other parts of the world to join.

I am glad this conversation has finally started. The miraa/mogoka menace has been with us, especially those from the North for a long time, and the middle class nonsense of politicians played a great role in the spread. Now most if not all of them are battling the same, a child or a grandchild here and there, deep in the addiction menace, and they are out guns blazing. I hope we win this war once and for all!
