Josephine Wanjiru Mumbi from Nanyuki has finally returned to Kenya after years of hardship.

Wanjiru left for Saudi Arabia in 2021 as a house manager, but despite signing a contract, she was allegedly deceived and forced to flee. She later became homeless and lived on the streets with her baby, appearing physically and mentally abused.

Her rescue and safe return were made possible through the efforts of Hunja Wa Hunja and the State Department for Diaspora Affairs.

Authorities are urging young women seeking employment in Gulf nations to fully understand contract terms and ensure their recruiting agents are legally licensed.

Kenya's First Family has moved into the newly renovated State House, revealing a bold architectural transformation costing an estimated 1.7 billion.

The historic building's iconic red roof has been replaced with a modern flat design, a change executed by a Chinese contractor since December 2023.

While President Ruto and his family shared first glimpses of the updated residence, originally built in 1907 as the colonial Governor's residence, the redesign has sparked public debate between celebrating modernization and preserving heritage.
