Life doesn’t build you in straight lines.
It breaks you in the quiet downs — the nights you cry with no reason, the doors that close right in your face, the people who leave when you needed them most. You learn how heavy silence can feel.
Then the ups come, small at first. A win you didn’t expect. A hand that stays. A morning where getting up doesn’t feel impossible. And for a while you think, “maybe I’m okay now.”
But it’s the whiplash between them that actually shapes you. The downs teach you how to survive. The ups teach you what to fight for. Piece by piece, scar by scar, and laugh by laugh, you stop being soft clay and start being someone who knows how to hold themselves together.
It’s sad, because no one tells you that becoming strong just means you’ve been hurt enough times to learn how to stand anyway.
