Applications are now open for the Building Inclusive & Resilient Enterprises (BIRE) Project, a national programme designed to help micro and small businesses in Kenya move from survival to structured, sustainable growth.
Implemented by Hand in Hand Eastern Africa, with support from the Embassy of Sweden and Hand in Hand Sweden, the BIRE program is targeting entrepreneurs across all 47 counties, with a focus on enterprises that are ready to formalize, strengthen operations, access finance and connect to reliable markets.
The program is open to women-led businesses, youth entrepreneurs aged 18โ35, persons with disabilities, informal and formal micro and small enterprises, as well as cooperatives, community-based organisations and producer groups.
Whether a business is just starting out or already operating but struggling to scale, BIRE is structured to provide practical, step-by-step support.
Successful applicants will receive business training and coaching, support to become investor-ready, assistance in accessing finance, and direct market linkages, including offtake opportunities.
Applications are open until 15 January 2026.
