A film that celebrates Maggie a lovely 25 year old artisan and creative who is deaf hailing from Longonot, Nakuru county. Seeing her community support her stitching dream is heartwarming; from her family, her colleagues at Ubuntu and her customers.

New Film Alert 🎬🎬🎬

Filming Maggie’s story was a beautiful start to our online film series and gallery for the artistic flair among the deaf community in Ke and UK. Maggie welcomed us with a warm smile, curious eyes, ambition and agency that is unfazed by being different.

This short film drops on EcilaFilms YouTube page end of this month. Subscribe and stay tuned to watch - share - like - comment.

A BIG thank you to all the collaborators of this project and an open invitation to future collaborations. A special mention to .life for being pacesetters in embracing inclusivity.

Last week got to see this MIGHTY river I only heard of in my history classes. The Ewaso Nyiro River also (Ewaso Ngiro River)is a powerhouse! Especially now that it’s flowing fully this rainy season. From where I was located it separated Samburu and Isiolo counties and further downstream it would meet Milgis river and then pass through Somalia 🇸🇴
“The Ewaso Nyiro River supports economic development and livelihoods that reside along its banks. With a continuous water supply from the glaciers from Mount Kenya, it runs down through seven semi-arid counties: Meru, Laikipia, Samburu, Isiolo, Wajir, Garissa and Marsabit, serving as an important catchment for people and biodiversity.” WWF Kenya
