U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a travel ban on several African countries, including Somalia, Chad, Eritrea, Sudan, Congo-Brazzaville, and Equatorial Guinea, due to security and immigration concerns. Somalia was labeled a "terrorist safe haven" due to weak governance and refusal to repatriate deported nationals. Chad was added due to its high visa overstay rate and perceived failure to comply with U.S. immigration laws. Eritrea and Sudan faced criticism for inadequate identity verification systems and high visa overstays.
