Jas is a master of subtlety, keeping her cards close to her chest and maintaining a poker face.

This tells you a few things: she’d either be an unrivaled gambler ♠ or a top-notch sleuth 🕵‍♀️.

We don’t see her as a detective though. Yeah, she has the mind for it, but the heart? Probably not.

She'd however be unbearable to face at poker 🎲 or a chessboard …you know…the ultimate games of strategies, smokescreens, and saying little. It's giving 'slick', eh?

We initially struggled a bit with her full name when she was new on the block. But she quickly set us straight, suggesting we simply call her ‘Jas’, and we did ‘jas’ (couldn’t help it) that!

When our Supremo asked what we would like in the new office, no one said, "Hey, let's have some working pods!" Or standing desks or even a multimedia studio.

Then someone dropped: "Can we have a pool table?" and now almost everyone at GDC became a pool shark 🎱 .

Sure, we had work to do, but we also had fun to have.

The vision was to come up with a creative and practical space. Because who wants to stare at a plain wall when you're tackling a mind-bending task?

So, everyone chipped in their two cents, and voila! We got gaming stations, a space bustling with color, art, and even plants 🌵 - both standing and hanging - because we’re fly like that.

The only thing missing is an office pet. Maybe a paw friend who can chill by the chess table. We're still interviewing potential candidates to see if they're a good fit…the only issue is that they don’t talk much.

We’ve worked with Jewellery brands before, so we know a lot about having ‘gems’ 💎 in our team…all without digging a quarry!

Crystal might have been a diamond in the rough when she joined GDC, but pressure makes diamonds, and she’s on her way there.

She’s putting in the work in our events and administration teams, paying her dues, and doing due diligence.

For us, it’s not just about learning the ropes. It’s also about mastering the knots, studying specific threads, knowing the textures, and reaching the top a polished product …mineral or not!
