ANOTHER controversial Tweeter (X) blogger/ activist Ndiangui Kinyagia is missing. And the Law Society of Kenya is filing an application at the High Court to have police compelled to produce him.
Yesterday DCI officers went to his residence in Kinoo, Nairobi at around 2pm, broke into his house and carried away personal items.
They first held negotiations with his caretaker for hours before being allowed to break into his house at around 9pm.
Neighbours say the officers arrived in about 10 vehicles and camped at the house for 9 hours. They carried away two laptops, two phones, an old and current passport and a yellow fever card. They locked the house with their padlock after recording with the caretaker an inventory of the items taken.
Kinyagia 31, an IT expert was not present during the raid and the officers did not produce a court order allowing them to break into the house.
The mother says she last spoke to him on Saturday morning when his phone went off. All other calls to him have gone unanswered.
His other family members and friends say they have not heard from him since Saturday and his whereabouts are unknown.
The family reported the disappearance at Kinoo Police Station today morning and obtained an OB number. The officers at the station however indicated that they were not aware of such incidence as the DCI officers had not reported at the station before conducting the operation.
I later accompanied the family to the LSK offices where we held a meeting with the LSK president Faith and other officials and agreed to have the society move to court for further intervention. MACHAKoS DAILY REPORTs
