The ministry of Interior announces Salary increase of Kenya Police, Prisons and NYS officers effectively this July 2026

Key changes:

Police constables will now earn up to Ksh57,700, up from Ksh38,975 (48% increase).

New police recruits will start at Ksh29,296, up from Ksh20,390 (44% increase).

NYS officers in the lowest cadre will earn between Ksh26,222 and Ksh37,912.

The highest-paid police officer will now earn up to Ksh345,850 (20% increase).

Senior Prisons officers will earn between Ksh301,548 and Ksh584,903.

We have held ODM Party Joint Parliamentary

Group Meeting presided by Party Leader Hon. Dr. Oburu Odinga.
After frank deliberations, members approved and upheld all recent decisions taken by the Central Committee and the National Executive Committee:
#1 The PG endorsed the decision by the emergency NEC meeting to install Hon. Dr Oburu Oginga as Party Leader.
#2 PG endorsed the decision by the National Executive Committee to suspend Hon. Edwin Sifuna as Secretary General.
#3 The PG endorsed the decision by the Central Committee to support the ongoing working arrangement between ODM and the UDA parties under the Broad-based Govt arrangement.
#4 The PG further supported the decisions that mandated the party to engage in structured negotiations with UDA and any other like-minded party for purposes of forming a coalition ahead of the 2027 election.
#5 The PG approved the decision by the relevant party organs to pursue compensation for victims of past election related human rights abuses.
#6 Further on victims compensation, the PG undertook to work with partners and pursue alternative mechanisms for the matter to be acted on urgently and conclusively.
#7 The PG endorsed the decision by the relevant party organs for the Party to pull out of Azimio.
#8 The PG endorsed the decision by NEC to convene a Special National Delegates Convention on March 27, 2027.
#9 The PG agreed to hold a joint PG with the UDA next Tuesday at which the MPs will receive a briefing on the implementation status of the 10-point agenda.
#10 The PG noted with grave concerns the ongoing active attempts to poach ODM members, introduce competitors and, or, encroach in ODM traditional bases.
#11 Finally, the PG mandated the Party Leader to begin internal processes, including modalities and representation for the upcoming coalition negotiations with the UDA Party and other likeminded parties.~Junet Mohamed
