🎥🌍🎉 We’re excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at our recent trip to Mombasa. As documentary filmmakers, it’s always a privilege to capture and celebrate impactful moments. And that’s just what we did as we filmed a video to commemorate Rotary International’s 100th anniversary in Kenya.

Our team spent several days in Mombasa, meeting and interviewing Rotarians who have made an impact in their community. We were amazed by the dedication and passion they have for their work, which ranges from improving access to clean water, tree planting, supporting education initiatives, working on the eradication of polio and much more. We also had the chance to witness firsthand the incredible impact of Rotary’s work in Kenya.

The experience was truly eye-opening and reminded us of the importance of telling stories that matter.

We encourage you to learn more about Rotary’s work in Kenya and how you can get involved. Together, we can make a difference and create a brighter future for all.

We had an incredible interview with Angela Wamola and Caroline Mbugua from GSMA's Sub-Saharan African Offices. They gave us insight into the mobile usage gap and how we can make mobile devices and services affordable and accessible.📱

Did you know that over 59% of people in Sub-Saharan Africa don't have access to mobile devices and services? Our interviewees shared with us how this gap affects economic and social development in the region.

We learned about the work that GSMA is doing to bridge this gap through its Mobile for Development program, which aims to increase mobile access and usage in low-income and underserved communities. 🌍

We also discussed the importance of creating an enabling environment for mobile operators to thrive, ensuring that they can provide affordable services to their customers. This includes policies that promote competition and innovation, as well as reducing the cost of devices through initiatives like tax exemptions.

Have you ever thought about how important mobile phones are for economic and social development? Share your thoughts with us in the comments below! And check out our Vimeo page to watch the videos.💬

We recently had the pleasure of attending The Skoll Foundation World Forum in Oxford, UK. It was an incredible experience filled with fascinating people and valuable knowledge. One of the most memorable moments was the MIND Travel Silentwalking meditation we participated in on our final day.

The meditation was an hour-long session that took place every morning throughout the forum. We walked through the serene nature of Oxford City, admiring the beautiful River Thames and allowing our minds to become calm and clear. This experience provided us with a sense of freedom and connection with our surroundings and ourselves.

It was a reminder of the importance of our work as documentary filmmakers. We are driven to tell stories that can make a difference and have a social impact. The MIND Travel Silentwalking meditation left us feeling inspired to collaborate with social enterprises and help them share their message with the world.

We are grateful for the opportunity that The Video Consortium and Skoll Foundation have given us to attend the World Forum. We hope to continue sharing unique experiences such as this one with our audience.

Have you ever been to a conference that left you feeling energized and inspired? Well, that's exactly how we felt after attending The Skoll Foundation World Forum in Oxford, UK! We had the opportunity to meet some of the brightest minds in social entrepreneurship, and we came away with a wealth of new knowledge and inspiration.

The conference was a melting pot of ideas, and we had the chance to connect with people from all over the world who are passionate about creating positive change. We attended breakout sessions that covered topics ranging from sustainable development to impact investing, and we left each session feeling more motivated than the last.

One of the most exciting sessions we attended was hosted by IDEO, in which they talked about the importance of collaboration between donors and social entrepreneurs. It was fascinating to learn about the different ways in which social enterprises and donors can work together to create lasting impact.

As documentary filmmakers, we're always on the lookout for inspiring stories to tell, and the Skoll World Forum was a treasure trove of such stories. We can't wait to get started on our next project and share with the world the amazing work that these social enterprises are doing.

Our thanks to The Video Consortium for this incredible journey.
