Everything thing in this world will pass. But Quran will stay forever. In a day I read 3 chapter of the holy Quran. After every ten days I compete full recitation of the Quran. In a month I compete full recitation of the Quran thrice.Quran has 114 chapters.

If I don't read Quran in a day, I feel sick and so bored. I was born 76 years ago in the Coastal part of Kenya. I learned Quran at tender age of 7 in Madrasa . At the age of 13 I was already teaching other student how to recite Quran properly. My father also used to read Quran a lot at home, and it's where I got my recitation motivation from.

Quran has positively impacted my life spiritually and health wise. I'm 76 but I don't suffer from eyes sight problem like most of my peers. The light that comes from constant reading of Quran is a cure to the eye.

Quran is a protection from harm and evil spirit.when one reads it, he is always surrounded by angels. On several occasions I have forgotten to lock my door when going out,but when I return back from work have always found everything in tact.

My uncle got for me a job in Nairobi in 1978. I worked for Hadamuti hotel in River road for 6 years. My first salary was Ksh 700 which was a lot of money by then. Apart from the salary my employee offered me food and accomodation.

I quit formal employment so as to get ample time to recite Quran which has become a mandatory routine for me to do. Now day I'm self employed I sale Kingfish, Shark , and spices here in Kibra. I have lived in Kibra for 42 years, having arrived here in 1983. My first rent at Mzee dada house was Ksh 70.

The money that I got from my previous work at Hadamuti hotel enabled me to educate my 5 children and also built a small family home in Mombasa.

I look more young than 76. A lot of people doubt if when I tell them I'm 76. But life is how you treat it. I believe I'm youngish because I played football a lot when I was Young, I don't smoke nor drink and more so I'm chaste.

At 76 I don't see my self quitting soon. Ambition and dreams is all that keeps me moving. I have a dream of opening a big shop, currently I'm selling in an open space.

Nairobi in the early seventies was organized and peaceful. There were plenty of opportunities. Jobs used to search for people unlike now days where opportunities are scarced.
