As the demand for timely, affordable and soil friendly farm inputs intensifies across Africa, Malawi is set to begin production of organic fertilizer at a new fertiliser manufacturing plant in Blantyre this January, 2025. The plant is set to produce 20,000 MT annually.
Thus is move will address Malawi's fertilizer need of 475,000 MT annually, reducing reliance on costly imports while creating new jobs along the waste value chain..
