We imagined a future where the sun becomes so unforgiving that even the things meant to protect us begin to fail.
That was the idea behind this shoot.
Our mood board was clear. The vision was simple but powerful — an umbrella burning under the sky, symbolizing a world where global warming has reached a point where shade is no longer protection.
But bringing imagination into reality is never easy.
Before the camera even clicked, the real struggle had already begun. We spent time figuring out how to build the umbrella, how to safely attach the materials that would burn, and how to light it without destroying everything in seconds. Each attempt came with uncertainty — sometimes the fire died too fast, sometimes it burned too aggressively, sometimes the umbrella collapsed before we could even frame the shot.
Everyone on set understood the vision, yet translating that vision into reality demanded patience.
There were moments when it felt like the shoot would completely fail.
But creativity often lives in persistence.
Through trial after trial, adjusting angles, relighting the fire, and carefully directing the model while managing the flames, we finally managed to capture a few frames that spoke the language we were searching for.
This image is not just about fire.
It is about a warning.
A future where the heat of our planet becomes so intense that even the objects designed to protect us begin to surrender to the flames.
If the earth continues to warm, what else will stop protecting us?
Sometimes art is not just beauty.
Sometimes it is a question we leave for the world.
