FIFA has launched a new “Super Shoutout” feature for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, allowing fans to pay $79 (about KSh 10,000) to have their name displayed on stadium big screens before matches. The feature is available across all 72 group-stage matches.
Fans can choose a match and team connection, with up to four shout-out slots purchasable per order. FIFA says the initiative is designed to increase fan engagement and make supporters part of the tournament experience.
The announcement has generated mixed reactions online, with some fans welcoming the idea while others criticise it as an extra commercial feature at football’s biggest tournament.

Officials warned that water scarcity in the county continues to disrupt schooling, forcing children—especially girls—to spend long hours searching for water, reducing attendance and affecting learning outcomes. They stressed that reliable water and hygiene systems remain essential for improving school participation.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has dismissed the High Court ruling that upheld his impeachment, saying it ignored key protections on fair hearing and due process. He argued that once constitutional violations are identified, the entire process should be voided.
Speaking in Nairobi after the decision at the Milimani Law Courts, he said the court confirmed procedural flaws but still upheld the outcome, calling it inconsistent. He maintained the impeachment process was fundamentally defective from the start.
