Sometimes men go through a lot. Hii najua… he probably didn’t have fare, and he didn’t want to borrow. I’ve been in that space before, and honestly, it’s not a good place to be.

Leo si Thursday, but hii TBT is quite interesting in my journey as a DJ. 😂

Back in 2016/2017, I enrolled in the Gifted DJs competition. At this point, I was broke broke kabisa ile yenye sikuwa hata na cash ya kulipa bedsitter yangu huko Kawangware. 😂😂 Story for another day!

So, my plan was simple: I hoped I could win the competition, get the DJ decks they were gifting us, sell them, buy myself an Uber, then get some smaller decks for doing events whenever I got called.

Honestly, I had joined the competition just to see if I could win. I figured if I became an Uber driver, I could at least make some decent money because that time Uber ilikua inalipa poa and hopefully I could keep up with rent without struggling. 😂😂

My friend… I didn’t win. 😭 I made it to the Top 3, but my heart was shattered. I asked God so many questions, but I didn’t get the answers I was looking for.

Then the following year, gigs started opening up. And looking back now, I can literally see God’s hand in everything.

So this is for anyone who feels like giving up: PLEASE DON’T. 🙏🏽

Sometimes the blessing is delayed, but that doesn’t mean God has forgotten you. What feels like a disappointment today might actually be God redirecting you to something much bigger.

God always comes through. ❤️🙏🏽
