Saboti MP Caleb Amisi has alleged that government institutions were directed by the Executive to each remit KSh4.7 million for domain and email security maintenance, a scheme he claims could total more than KSh1.89 billion. Amisi further alleges that the July hacking of the State House website, during which attackers demanded a KSh41.3 million Bitcoin ransom, was staged to create a pretext for the payments. He questioned why such huge sums were being allocated to domain security when, he claims, standard domain maintenance costs rarely exceed KSh5,000.

The Kenya Aviation Workers Union (KAWU) has signed a Return-to-Work Agreement with the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA), officially calling off its industrial action. Affected members have been directed to resume normal duties immediately.
Under the agreement, KCAA management has undertaken in good faith to honour and implement the outcome of the pending Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations, after the Salaries and Remuneration Commission withdrew its earlier guidance and issued new parameters on 1st September 2026. The parties also agreed on non-victimisation protections for employees who took part in the action.

Kenya’s aviation workers are warning of a fresh labour dispute after accusing the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) of failing to honour a framework agreement aimed at resolving their grievances.

The Kenya Aviation Workers Union says there has been “no progress at all” in negotiations over Collective Bargaining Agreements covering 2015–2019, 2019–2023 and 2023–2027.

The union says KCAA management failed to respond to proposed meetings, while an advisory by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission recommending that the outstanding CBAs be concluded on a “zero-review basis” has become a major stumbling block.

The union has accused management of keeping workers in stagnation for more than 11 years and says it will not allow their right to fair remuneration and collective bargaining to be undermined.

The letter, dated 27 August 2026, was addressed to the Principal Secretary for Aviation and Aerospace Development.

Flight operations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport remained severely disrupted on Monday as the Kenya Aviation Workers Union's go-slow, which began on Sunday, stretched into a second day. A number of airlines including Kenya Airways and RwandAir reported cancellations and delays of up to six hours, while the Kenya Airports Authority said average delays stood at two to three hours. Passengers described overnight waits of up to 12 hours, with many sleeping on terminal floors. The union accuses the government and aviation agencies of failing to honour a return-to-work agreement reached after February's strike. Fresh talks between KAWU and government mediators are scheduled for 11am today.

The National Federation of Public Benefit Organizations (PBOs) in Kenya has thanked members and stakeholders for participating in its Online Monthly Dialogue Conference, while unveiling three follow-up engagements scheduled for early September.
National Team Leader Stephen K. Cheboi commended attendees for their active participation and commitment to strengthening the PBO sector, describing the conference as key to the Federation's push for a united, compliant, and sustainable sector nationwide.
Three sessions are lined up. On Tuesday, 1st September, Janet Ida A.A. Obiero, Global Managing Partner and Founder of McRollin, will address sustainability among PBOs from 9.30 a.m. The next day, Joseph Mwenda and Patrick Wakhu of the African Institute for Capacity Development (AICAD) will lead a session on resource mobilisation and capacity development, also at 9.30 a.m. The week concludes with a peace dialogue on Saturday, 5th September, at 2.00 p.m.
Mr Cheboi urged members to remain engaged with the Federation's programmes, saying sustained participation was essential to advancing accountability, service, and community transformation across the sector.
