Don’t be Naive
“Fraud could never happen here! Why would someone ever steal from our company? My co-workers are like family! I just can’t imagine someone doing that!”
Did you hear anything like the above before?
I’m sure you did, one way or another.
Staff training is important element of fraud. We should educate management and staff about fraud and how to identify the warning signs of common frauds and scams.
We also must include fraud awareness training as part of your induction or orientation program for new joiners to the company, in periodic management briefings and through ongoing staff training sessions.
Don’t forget to remind the employees to follow in the event of a fraud being discovered or suspected, including how to report it.
These are all part of fraud fighting process.
