On 2nd October 2025, Biovision Africa Trust together with Chevoso Upendo SHG will host a Farmers Field Day in Chevoso Village, Kabras South Ward, Malava Subcounty.

This interactive learning event will showcase climate-smart and agroecological practices that boost productivity while caring for the environment. Farmers will experience practical solutions including zai pits, raised beds, bokashi, composting, water harvesting, soil conservation structures, cone and multistory gardens, plant-based pest management, and more.

The day will also highlight nutrition, marketing, soil health, and kitchen garden innovations with other partners bringing in diverse products and technologies for farmers to explore.

Key stakeholders including the County Government of Busia and NGOs championing agroecology are actively participating in the process that kicked off yesterday.

This initiative will produce the Draft Zero Agroecology Policy, a milestone that will guide the county in promoting agroecological practices, boosting sustainability, and securing better livelihoods for farmers.
