*Things Praise and Worship Leaders Should NEVER Say To The Congregation*

*1. "Everyone should stand up, there are people in the hospital who cannot stand because they don't have legs and they wish to stand..."*

Some people in the congregation are sick, others especially some women are having their monthly moment and they are in pain. Others are able to worship God better when they're sitting. It's okay to ask everyone to stand but do not blackmail or scorn them if they don't.

*2. "We're not here to joke, we're in the presence of God and He is a consuming fire..."*

This is a threat and a misrepresentation of God and His word. If you threaten people, they lose the boldness and confidence to be before the throne of Grace and therefore their worship will no longer be in spirit but under the law or coercion. The scripture in Hebrews 12:29 doesn't mean God will punish or even kill anyone because they refused to stand, lift hands or refused to answer you with amen.

*3. "Kumbe You're good students, I had underrated you..."*

Boss, some of the people you're leading there are intellectuals with several degrees in different career scopes. They have understood and even crammed more difficult things than you. Others are senior elders and Bishops who deserve some honor, you can't just tell them how you thought they were fools.

Worship leaders, let's lead with love, honor and understanding.

|SONGS AND DOCTRINE| 🎵📖

Music is not just music until you understand how it shapes _what_ you think and _how_ you think.

There is a song that has caught my ears — *"Ihiga Ria Koine"* (Visit YouTube and search for the song by Flozzy John)— and I can’t help but address it because of what Scripture actually says.

The song references:
*Psalm 118:22* _“The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone”_

*The story in the song says:* The builder laid many stones to make a house, but one stone was not fitting with the others, so the builders rejected it. Later the house could not be complete until that stone was included. Therefore it’s called the cornerstone.

*That is completely erroneous.*

*What is a Cornerstone really?*

*1. Architectural meaning:*
The cornerstone is NOT the last stone added to complete a house. It is the *FIRST* stone set in the foundation, joining two walls at the outer corner. It is the stone used to get all measurements of the entire building. It determines where and how the rest of the stones will be laid.

*2. Biblical meaning:*
Jesus Christ — who was despised, scorned, rejected and crucified — became the foundation stone that marks the measurements of the spiritual house that we are being built into as living stones.

*1 Peter 2:5*
_“You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house...”_

*Ephesians 2:19-22*
_“You are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of God's household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the cornerstone. In Him the whole building is fitted together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord.”_

*1 Corinthians 3:10-11*
_“By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”_

Jesus is not the rejected stone that was later forced to fit. He is the chosen foundation upon which everything else is aligned.

If we do not understand Scripture, we will write heretical things and build a house that cannot stand the fire on the Day of the Lord.

Let every gospel songwriter write in accordance with truth.

*Jesus is the Cornerstone, not an afterthought.*

|SONGS AND DOCTRINE|- We're The Custodians of God.

*Dear Brethren*

We who believe in God the Father and in the Son, Jesus Christ —
*We are the custodians of God.*

It is testified by those who saw the Gospel with their own eyes.
And by those who later met the Lord Jesus after He had ascended to the Father.

*1 John 4:12* says:
_“No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and His love is made complete in us.”_

Just as it pleased the Father that the fullness of the Godhead dwell in the Son in bodily form...
The Living Word now asks us:

*1 Corinthians 3:16*
_“Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?”_

Until we understand this, we will never grasp the value of the love God has poured into us.
Without it, our stature remains like mere men.

But this is the truth:
*We are no longer in the realm of the flesh, for Christ lives in us.*
*Romans 8:10* _“And if Christ is in you...”_
*Galatians 2:20* _“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.”_

Yes — *Christ lives in us.*

The saints of old had this mystery revealed to them, not for themselves, but for the days we are living in now.
Days permitted by God in Christ Jesus.

About them the Scripture says they _hoped to have it_, but did not have the opportunity.
But to us it has been given:

*Colossians 1:27*
_“To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”_

We are not orphans.
God has made His abode with us because we believe through Christ Jesus.

Let us walk in this reality today.
Let us love, because God lives in us.
Let us honor the temple, because His Spirit dwells in us.

*Christ in you. The hope of glory.*

*SONGS AND DOCTRINE*

Today let’s sit with this song:
*"Ndireka mahiga Maine, ningukugooca o riu ndina mihumu, nikumenya wega tiga niwe, hihi muturire wakwa ungitarii atia"*

This song takes us straight to *Luke 19:38-40*:

> _“Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”_
> _39 And some of the Pharisees called to Him from the crowd, “Teacher, rebuke Your disciples.”_
> _40 But He answered and said to them, “I tell you that if these should keep silent, the stones would immediately cry out.”_

*The Scene*
This was the Triumphal Entry. The crowd had come to welcome Jesus as King. They were singing, shouting, worshipping the Man on a donkey.

But the Pharisees were offended. To them, it was blasphemous for people to praise a man like that. _“Teacher, tell them to be quiet.”_

And Jesus answers: _“If they keep silent, the stones will cry out.”_

*The Song and The Scripture*
Here’s what makes the song so powerful.

In ancient days, when people died they were buried in tombs — caves carved out of rock, sealed with a heavy stone lid. The dead literally became “one with the stones.”

So Jesus is saying something profound:
*If the living go silent, the Resurrection Himself can raise even those sleeping in the stones to praise Him.*
He is not short of worship. If our mouths close, He will open the graves.

That’s exactly what the song is declaring: _“I will not keep silent.”_

*Doctrine to Hold*
1. *God will be glorified.* If we don’t declare it, creation will. If the living are quiet, He can raise the dead to speak.
2. *Jesus is King and Resurrection.* He has power over death and over stones. _John 11:25_
3. . *Worship is not optional.* God is worthy whether we feel like it or not.

Let the stones stay in their place. *We will praise Him.*

SONGS AND DOCTRINE OFTHE WORD

After the last post on the _Gacumbiri_ song, we had such a robust conversation. Thank God!

It showed me we need more teaching so the church can come to the unity of faith as the Word of the Lord Jesus says in _Ephesians 4_.

As we continue engaging on *Songs and Doctrine*, we’ll also go deeper on:
1. *Spiritual warfare*
2. *Doctrine of Salvation*
3. *Our Identity* - The nature of the new creation and our responsibility in Christ Jesus

Thank you friends for the great engagement. However the post is not an attack on the person of the great minister of the gospel of Christ but an examination of the word of God as it is written in the scriptures. Let's keep engaging

There are songs my spirit has refused to dance to.
Forgive me if I mention some that are your favorites.
_Nyambatite kirima kiri na hinya na thuta thu no idengeretie, nguigua ta ingikara thi niguo huruke no ningi Thu no ikunyita_

But my spirit knows where it stands. Here’s why:

*1. I’m not climbing any mountain*
I’m already on the Mountain of the Lord.
When I believed in Christ, I came to Mount Zion — to the assembly of the firstborn, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to the multitude of angels. _Hebrews 12:22-24_
No striving. I’m home.

*2. I’m running a race*
But not running away from an enemy.
This is a race of faith. A race to redeem the time in evil days. To pour myself out like a drink offering for the will of God.
Terror will not come near me, for I am established in righteousness. _Isaiah 54:14_
I’m not looking behind me. My eyes are on the hope of glory set before us.

*3. I’m not tired*
I’m not looking for a place to sit down and rest.
I’ve already found rest in Christ Jesus.
Rest from sin. Rest from my works. Rest from the battles.
Christ has become my absolute Sabbath. I have entered rest.

*4. And if the enemy dares catch up to me in this race...*
He won’t withstand the fire.
Christ in me is greater. In His name I carry power and authority that darkness cannot stand against.

My feet are planted. My heart is settled.
I’m not dancing to fear, striving, or weariness.
I’m dancing to grace. 🙌

WE MUST NOT BE DIVIDED

_John 17:22-23_
_"I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one — I in them and you in me — so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me."_

Dear Saints of God,

Permit me to share a brief word of exhortation from the very heart of Jesus.

We often call Matthew 6:9-13 “The Lord’s Prayer” because the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray.
But Jesus’ true High Priestly Prayer is in *John 17*:

1. *Verses 1-5* – He prayed for Himself
2. *Verses 6-19* – He prayed for His disciples, the apostles of our salvation
3. *Verses 20-26* – He prayed for YOU and ME. For all who would believe through the Word of the apostles.

And in *verses 22-23* He tells the Father:
_“I have given them the glory that you gave me.”_

Think about that.
The same glory the Father gave to the Son, Jesus has given to us.
As the Father is in glory, and the Son is in glory, we too have been glorified in Him and by Him.

*But why?*
Verse 22 gives us the reason: _“that they may be ONE as we are one.”_
The glory of God in us is meant to make us one.
It gives us the capacity to be united, just as Jesus and the Father are one.

We cannot claim this glory and still walk in division.
It is not the will of Christ for us to have brethren we refuse to associate with, or churches we refuse to fellowship with.
Paul puts it plainly in *1 Corinthians 3:1-3* — when we boast in denominations and in pastors and forget we are one body, we remain infants. We can only take milk, not the solid food of the Gospel.

Verse 23 goes deeper:
_“I in them and you in me — so that they may be brought to COMPLETE unity.”_
Our completeness, our perfection, is found in our oneness.

And the world is watching.
The proof that Jesus was sent by the Father, and that He loves us the same way the Father loves Him, is NOT just our preaching or zeal.
It is our *unity*.

Has anyone ever asked you, _“Kwani huyu Mungu wako hakupendi?”_
The world will know He loves us when they see us loving each other in the glory of Christ.
_“Love one another”_ — *John 15:12* — _“that the world may know you are my disciples.”_

Therefore brethren,
*“Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”* — _Ephesians 4:3_

We are one body. One glory. One Lord.
