East Africans who enjoyed reading the popular Pace-Setters Series, originally published by Macmillan Publishers, need not worry. When Moran (E.A.) Publishers Ltd took over operations of Macmillan in the region, they rebranded the series to Pears and are still in the market.
David Maillu, the King of popular fiction, has three books in the series. They are: For Mbatha and Rabeka, The quatorial Assignment and Thorns of Life.
These titles have defied the test of time and are still doing well in the market.

When David Maillu wrote After 4.30, Michael Soi was on two years old.
51 years later Mvua Press has reissued the book and Soi, a visual artist, has done the cover.
A meeting of literary and visual art.
Art never grows old; it only gets better.
The book was launched, yesterday, at a colourful ceremony, at the Sarakasi Dome in Ngara.
Guests during the show were also treated to the enactment of the book, on stage.
