Raising the Next Generation of Champions 🌍🇰🇪

Meet Lucy from Nyandarua County — a grassroots athletics mentor shaping the future of Kenyan running.
Today, she traveled with young runners to compete at the Mazingira Day Cross Country at Kasarani Open Grounds, Nairobi — giving them not just a race experience, but a dream.

Lucy is part of KATA (Kenya Athletics Training Academy), founded by Bob Anderson, the visionary behind My Best Runs and founder of Runner’s World Magazine.
Through KATA, Lucy is opening doors for children from rural Kenya to access training, mentorship, and global running opportunities.

This is what impact looks like — one child, one dream, one race at a time. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️✨

From elite runners to rising youth and masters, this is more than a race — it’s a story of pride, purpose, and passion.

With ABSA Bank Kenya as the title sponsor and support from Safaricom and other partners, Chepsaita continues to write Africa’s running legacy — stride by stride.

Kenya vs Uganda showdown!

It’s Korir vs Kiplimo on the streets of Chicago!

John Korir (2:02:44) comes in as the fastest man, but Uganda’s Jacob Kiplimo could spoil the party on debut.

🔥 Can Kiplimo’s half marathon power carry him through 42K?

Beyond the Finish Line mourns the passing of Kenyan track legend Hezekiah Nyamau (1937–2025).

An icon of Kenya’s golden generation, Nyamau’s name is forever etched in Olympic history — from clinching silver in the 4x400m relay at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics to striking gold in Munich in 1972, a triumph that symbolized Kenya’s rise on the world athletics stage.

He also shone at the 1970 Commonwealth Games, adding gold to his collection and inspiring a generation of African sprinters to dream beyond limitations.

Nyamau’s discipline, grace, and commitment to excellence transcended eras, reminding us that champions are remembered not only for their medals but for the legacy they leave behind.

Our deepest condolences to his family, teammates, and the global athletics fraternity.
Rest in eternal peace, legend. 🕊️🇰🇪
