Help Me While I Am Still Alive
The passing of Cate Nabutola is a painful reminder of how people from humble backgrounds often struggle to access life-saving treatment. She travelled to India seeking medical care, but unfortunately got stranded because of a lack of funds. At the time she needed help the most, many of our leaders ignored the calls for assistance. Today, those same leaders are everywhere sending messages of condolence.
Condolences are important, but they cannot replace the help that was needed when she was still fighting for her life. Let us build a society where we stand with people in their hour of need, not only after they are gone.
On behalf of people from humble backgrounds, I am deeply saddened and disappointed. My humble appeal to our leaders and all well-wishers is simple: help me while I am still alive. Let us value human life through timely action, not just words after death.
Kumutambo kumubi😭😭😭
