Four years ago, we had the incredible opportunity to produce a four-part documentary series for an organization called Five Talents.
The series spotlighted how community savings groups empowered individuals—especially in underserved regions—to achieve financial stability and independence.
Our team traveled over 1,000 kilometers across Kenya to capture these powerful stories—from remote villages to bustling towns. It was a journey that challenged us, inspired us, and reminded us of the power of storytelling in driving meaningful change.
These images are from one of the filming locations in Baringo County.
There, we met a remarkable woman who, through her savings group, was able to save and borrow enough to start her own small shop—bringing basic goods closer to her community.
Before her shop opened, residents had to walk approximately 8 kilometers to and from the nearest store. Her initiative not only changed her life, but also brought convenience, dignity, and opportunity to her neighbors.
Grateful to have been part of telling stories like hers.
