“No one knowingly auditions for second place.” 🖋️

challenges the ‘accidental’ nature of being the other woman. Is it easier to slide into a role than to consciously accept it? When the title is spoken out loud, the accountability becomes impossible to ignore. A heavy, necessary read on emotional drift vs. conscious choice.

The Pursuit of the "Western Dream"
What is the true cost of a visa? Beyond the paperwork and the long queues lies a complex cocktail of ambition, rejection, and the raw reality of seeking a life "out of Kenya."

In Part 2 of "Immigrant Cocktail by cocktail_empress: Beyond the Visa and the Price of the Western Dream," Empress Ciku Kimani Mwaniki takes us deeper into Esther’s journey. After facing "gremlin" immigration officers and the sting of American rejections, Esther shifts her focus to Europe—only to realize that her qualifications might not be enough in a world that often demands a specific kind of charisma.

It’s a powerful, relatable look at the grit required to chase a life abroad and the unexpected turns that happen when you finally stop holding your breath.
