MAHIGAINI MWEA:
The burial of William Hika, a 31-year-old man who was selling meat at a butchery in Ngurubani, Mwea, did not proceed as planned after members of the public objected to the arrangements.
They claimed that the deceased had parents and therefore should not be buried in a public cemetery. Instead, they insisted that he be laid to rest at his family home. As a result, a new grave was dug, and the burial proceeded at his father's farm.
