Three innocent boys with a promising future lost their lives to mob justice, fueled by false accusations.
This is how Kennedy Mutiso(29), his younger brother Stanley Muthungu(22) and their friend Charles Mutiso(25) met their painful death.
On the night of 31.05.2026 around 3.00 am. The three boys are walking home after enjoying the UEFA Champions League finals between PSG and Arsenal.
Christopher Mwenda Robert alias Murefu(in the first photo), a probox owner and a Muguka vendor in Machakos town allegedly knocks down one of the victims injuring him seriously.
Out of either Malice or fear, he tries to leave the scene but the other two young men try to forcefully take the car keys to stop him from escaping the scene. Mwenda raises alarm and starts claiming that he was been car-jacked.
The allegation triggers a violent response from nearby boda boda riders and members of the public, culminating in the mob attack on the three young men.
Within minutes, The three young men are beaten, doused with petrol and set on fire,
sustaining burns covering between 90 and 95 per cent of their bodies. Their remains are later collected by police and taken to Machakos Level 5 Hospital mortuary, where they are initially recorded as unidentified persons.
For four days, relatives search separately for the missing men before eventually discovering their bodies at the mortuary.
The police opens up an inquiry and Mwenda is arrested. After been arraigned in court for murder, the police requests the court to be allowed to detain Mwenda in custody at Machakos Police Station as they pursue further inquiries into the deaths of the three young men.
One of the boys had recently graduated from University and the other one had recently acquired a job with an insurance company. 💔
