LawAfrica’s Group Managing Director, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗴𝗶𝗴𝗶, paid a courtesy visit to the State Law Office, where he met with Deputy Solicitor General, Madam Pauline Mcharo.

The meeting explored collaborative opportunities aimed at equipping OAG offices across the country with updated legal resources — including 𝘓𝘢𝘸 𝘙𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘴, 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘴, 𝘓𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘦𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴, and 𝘋𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭 𝘓𝘢𝘸 𝘚𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴.

Did you know? Under Section 12 of the Kenyan Penal Code, a person is not criminally responsible for an act or omission if, at the time, their mind is affected by disease to the extent that they cannot understand what they are doing or know that it is wrong.

This provision forms the basis of the defence of insanity in Kenyan criminal law — where justice meets compassion through the law.
