“WHO ARE YOU WHEN NOBODY IS WATCHING?”
This Saturday at the Connect MasterLab Programme - CMP, hosted at the African Film and TV Talent Training Institute (AFTTTI), we stepped beyond surface-level conversations and went deeper into one of the most important foundations of a creative career: Professional Identity.
Because long before the audience applauds, long before the industry recognizes your work, and long before success arrives… identity is what carries you.
We explored how the way you see yourself as a creative shapes your discipline, your decisions, your collaborations, and ultimately the trajectory of your career.
The question that echoed through the room was simple, yet powerful:
“Who are you when nobody is watching?”
Because the truth is; the creative industry does not just reward talent.
It rewards character, consistency, and clarity of identity.
And if you cannot define who you are as a professional, the industry will define it for you.
