Carlton Johnson II, 35, Named as Minneapolis Apartment Shooting Suspect After 2 Killed, 6 Injured and Gunman Dies; Records Show He Had Threatened Residents

A deadly shooting at a Minneapolis apartment complex left two people dead and six others injured, including three police officers, before the suspected gunman died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The suspect was identified by sources as 35-year-old Carlton Johnson II, a resident of the apartment complex where the shooting happened.

Records reportedly show Johnson was facing eviction and had allegedly been involved in repeated disputes with residents. He was also accused of displaying a fi***rm and telling people he would “k*ll someone.”

A neighbor said Johnson had recently threatened to shoot his former girlfriend and two property managers.

Police responded after gunfire erupted at the complex shortly before 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. Officers found victims inside the building and later encountered additional gunfire as they moved through the property.

Two victims died, while six others were injured, including three officers. The victims' identities have not yet been released.

Authorities have not announced a motive, and the investigation remains ongoing.

A 2-year-old boy has died following a disturbing incident at a Frankfort home, and his mother was hospitalized after police said she was found attempting to harm herself.

The incident happened around 4:04 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, at a home in the 22700 block of Brook Stone Court.

Police said officers found the toddler unresponsive and attempted CPR before he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The mother was also found at the residence with non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Frankfort police are investigating the child's death as a domestic-related homicide.

Online reports have identified the mother as Corie Walsh and her husband as Michael Walsh, but police have not officially released the names of the mother or child or confirmed those identities.

Authorities have also not publicly accused the mother of killing her son, announced any charges or explained exactly how the toddler died.

Police said a 17-year-old girl called 911 and was reportedly found performing CPR on the child when officers arrived.

The investigation remains active, and officials are asking the public to avoid treating unverified social-media claims as confirmed information.

Frankfort police said their thoughts are with everyone affected by the tragedy and encouraged the community to respond with “compassion, understanding, and strength” during the difficult time.

Pamela Cisneros’ Mother Questions Why NYPD Shot Her Daughter After Times Square Stabbing Attack, Says Police Could Have Grabbed Her

The mother of Pamela Cisneros, the Queens woman who fatally stabbed Erin Piacenti and seriously injured 68-year-old Tak Kam in Times Square, is questioning why police officers did not physically restrain her daughter instead of shooting her.

Cisneros, 49, was confronted by NYPD officers after the Monday afternoon stabbing attack. Police said she was holding two knives and refused repeated commands to drop them. Officers deployed Tasers, but they were unsuccessful before Cisneros moved toward them with the knives. Two officers then opened fire, and Cisneros later died at a hospital.

“There were so many police… why didn’t they grab her by the arm?” her mother told Fox 5 News in Spanish.

Cisneros’ brother, Patrick Peralta, said she had struggled with bipolar disorder but had been receiving treatment and had not previously shown violent behavior.

Police records show Cisneros had a documented mental-health history, including previous encounters with officers and a 2019 su***de attempt.

The incident began when police say Cisneros stabbed Tak Kam, 68, in the abdomen near West 41st Street before moving toward 42nd Street, where she fatally stabbed Erin Piacenti, 32, a Bank of America executive and new mother who had recently returned from maternity leave.

The NYPD is conducting an internal investigation into the police shooting, while officials have said body-camera footage will be released.

The tragedy has raised difficult questions about mental health, public safety and the use of deadly force during encounters involving people armed with knives.

18-Year-Old Isaiah Reeves Arrested and Charged With Two Counts of First-Degree Murder in Deaths of Uncle Johnny Ray Reeves II, 38, and Nicole Massey, 39, in Attala County

An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder after a man and woman were found dead inside their Attala County, Mississippi, home Sunday.

Authorities identified the victims as Johnny Ray Reeves II, 38, and Nicole Massey, 39. Isaiah Reeves, 18, is the nephew of Johnny Ray Reeves II.

Deputies were called to the home in the Zama community around 4:58 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30, after someone arriving at the residence discovered a man and woman unresponsive inside. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Their causes of death have not yet been released. Their bodies were sent to the Mississippi State Crime Laboratory for autopsies as investigators work to determine exactly what happened.

Sheriff Curtis Pope said Isaiah Reeves voluntarily turned himself in Monday, Aug. 31, accompanied by his attorney. He was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

Reeves is being held at the Leake County Correctional Facility on a $2 million bond.

Authorities have not released a possible motive or detailed what investigators believe happened inside the home.

The Attala County Sheriff’s Office and Mississippi Bureau of Investigation are continuing to investigate the double homicide, with autopsy results and forensic evidence expected to help establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

The case remains active, and additional information may be released as the investigation continues.

A Tulsa community is mourning Mike Moore and his wife, Mary Moore, who were shot and killed Friday at their towing business following a dispute over a vehicle.

Tulsa police said a group of people went to Mike’s Towing near Pine and Garnett to retrieve a vehicle that had been impounded. A confrontation reportedly turned physical before Darius Jones allegedly pulled a gun and shot Mike and Mary.

Police said Mike returned fire, striking Jones in the arm. Mary died at the scene, while Mike was pronounced dead at a hospital. Jones was treated at a hospital before being released and arrested on two counts of murder.

The tragedy is especially heartbreaking because Mike and Mary had finalized the adoption of their 12-year-old daughter earlier this year. She has now lost both of her parents.

Friends, church members and employees remembered the couple as loving, generous people who regularly helped others. Employees at Mike’s Towing are also grieving the loss of the couple they considered family.

A Pennsylvania community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Sergeant Peter Thatcher, his wife Sandra Thatcher, and their two children, 11-year-old Noah and 10-year-old Layla, who were all killed in a devastating crash Saturday morning.

Pennsylvania State Police said the Tunkhannock family of four was traveling on Rock Mountain Drive in Gibson Township, Susquehanna County, when their vehicle left the roadway and plunged approximately 60 feet down a steep embankment.

Crystal Rains, 32, Killed After Being Ejected From Overturned Car in Franklin Township, Warren County, as Driver Flees Scene and Troopers Search for Answers

A 32-year-old Lebanon woman, Crystal Rains, was tragically killed early Saturday after she was ejected from an overturned vehicle in Franklin Township, Warren County, while the driver reportedly fled the scene, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The deadly crash happened at approximately 2:48 a.m. on Shaker Road near State Route 122. Investigators said a tan 2016 Chevrolet Cruze was traveling south when it left the roadway, struck two mailboxes and overturned.

Rains, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was ejected during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Warren County Coroner's Office.

Troopers say the driver fled after the crash. Authorities have not released the driver's identity and are continuing to investigate what caused the vehicle to leave the road and who was behind the wheel.

Newly released police video has sparked outrage and calls for an Arkansas State Police trooper to be fired after footage showed him breaking an SUV window, grabbing a 23-year-old passenger by his dreadlocks and punching him during an arrest.

The August 19 incident followed a high-speed pursuit in which police say an Infiniti SUV fled a traffic stop and reached speeds of more than 130 mph. After officers eventually immobilized the vehicle, Trooper Theodore “Teddy” Henderson turned his attention to back-seat passenger Tedrick Washington.

Video shows Henderson ordering Washington out before smashing the rear window. Henderson then grabbed Washington by the arm and hair, pulling him toward the opening before striking him. Washington was later taken to the ground, where Henderson reported punching him a second time during a struggle.

Washington was charged with obstruction of governmental operations and resisting arrest, while the driver faces multiple charges connected to the pursuit. A front-seat passenger was released without charges.

Civil rights attorney Ben Crump and others have publicly called for accountability following the video's release. Meanwhile, released records do not include a separate Arkansas State Police administrative finding on Henderson's use of force or a statement from Washington.

Adirondack Central Football Coach Darrel Gray Jr. and His 17-Year-Old Daughter Nora Killed in Head-On Crash With Tractor-Trailer While Heading to Swim Practice

The Adirondack Central School District is mourning the heartbreaking loss of football coach Darrel Gray Jr., 52, and his 17-year-old daughter, Eleanor “Nora” Gray, who were killed in a head-on crash with a tractor-trailer in Oneida County on Thursday, August 27.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Darrel was driving a Volkswagen Tiguan east on Route 294 at around 7 a.m. when the vehicle crossed into the westbound lane and collided with an oncoming tractor-trailer. Both father and daughter were pronounced dead at the scene.

Nora’s mother, Marion, said the pair had been on their way to Nora’s swim practice. Nora was a member of the district’s swim team, while her father served as the head coach of Adirondack Central’s modified football team.

The tractor-trailer driver was hospitalized with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.

The Adirondack Central School District is making counselors available to students and staff as the community comes to terms with the devastating loss.
