Today, when the President was signing the IEBC Bill, I felt a wave of sadness and frustration. He was surrounded by the same leaders I used to see when I was 10 years old. This left me wondering, are most of us so foolish that we are unable to choose new leaders? Are we so deeply mired in corruption and indifference that we keep recycling the same faces year after year?
Do we lack the courage to pick fresh, capable leaders? Are we easily swayed by petty gifts like a 2kg Unga or the usual Ksh. 200 during campaigns, forgetting what truly matters—honest and skilled leadership? Have we become blind to the possibilities for change, or worse, are we willingly allowing ourselves to be misled?
Electing these corrupt leaders make me wonder if we are our own worst enemies. It's heartbreaking to think we might be missing chances for progress and improvement. Our future deserves better. We need leaders who are honest, visionary, and genuinely care about us, Kenyans.
Let's not settle for less or fall prey to manipulation. It's time to wake up, demand accountability, and make better choices. We have the power to demand more, to choose wisely, and to create a better future for ourselves and our children. Let's find our voice and steer our country towards a brighter tomorrow.
