Muserech community Appeals for Help to Clear Hospital Bill for Ailing Pupil

Muserech Comprehensive School in Eldama Ravine is appealing for support to help bring back Grade 7 pupil Naomy Awot Eyengyeng, who remains at Tenwek Hospital due to an unpaid medical bill.

Naomy, who has battled a heart condition since Grade 3, underwent a successful heart surgery in August 2025 after doctors at Kenyatta National Hospital discovered that four of her heart valves were damaged. The total cost of her treatment rose to Ksh 1.7 million, with the Social Health Authority (SHA) paying Ksh 900,000 and a well-wisher covering Ksh 400,000. However, a balance of Ksh 450,000 remains, preventing her release from the hospital.

Her mother, Olpha Beigitt, said doctors have confirmed Naomy is fit to go home and resume school, but the family cannot raise the remaining amount. Her father, Simon Eyengyeng, said he has exhausted his savings and struggles to provide for their other children.

Headteacher Lynda Yagan Kiprop described Naomy as a bright, hardworking student who deserves a chance to continue her education. The community is appealing to well-wishers to help clear the bill. Support can be channeled through Headteacher Lynda Kiprop at 0726 458 092.
