Her gazettement follows her election and swearing-in on Monday, July 21, 2025, during a special sitting of the County Assembly.

Kenga’s elevation to Speaker follows the removal of her predecessor, Teddy Mwambire, who was ousted through a vote of no confidence on June 30, 2025, over allegations of misconduct and violations of the Constitution
