Rehabilitation works on the Buyofu-Madibo Road in Bukhayo East Ward are in full swing!.

With the onset of these works, our primary focus is to grade, reshape, and compact the surface while restoring proper drainage systems to ensure longevity

This road has long served as a vital artery for local farmers, traders, students, and transporters, and its condition directly affects the socio-economic activities in the region.

Through the Nambale Constituency NG-CDF FY 2023-2024, we have successfully completed the construction of a 20-door flush toilets at St. Anne’s Kisoko Girls High School.

This facility will greatly improve hygiene and promote a safe, dignified learning environment for our girls.

This modern sanitation facility is part of our broader commitment to providing safe, clean, and supportive learning environments in our schools while also addressing the recurring challenge of seasonal pit latrine collapses.

This morning, together with Hon. Innocent Momanyi Obiri (MP Bobasi), I joined mourners at Khadoda Village, Nambale Township Ward, to bid farewell to the late Samson Wesonga Shikuku(25), whose life was sadly lost in a road accident.

Later, at Segero Village, I condoled with the family of Mzee Paul Barasa Matini(94), fondly known as "Liguru wa Yesu," during his final send-off. He was a man of deep faith and a respected elder in the community.

May their souls rest in peace. Our thoughts and prayers remain with the bereaved families during this difficult time.

I am pleased to inform residents and traders of Bukadanyi Market that the faulty transformer, which had broken down three months ago, has finally been replaced today.

This development marks the end of a long period of power disruption that had greatly inconvenienced business operations and daily life in the area.

Throughout this period, I remained in constant communication with the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC), pushing for a quick resolution despite the nationwide shortage of transformers. I want to thank the KPLC management for eventually prioritizing Bukadanyi and ensuring delivery and installation of the new unit.

To the traders, shop owners, and residents who endured the darkness and losses-your patience and resilience have not gone unnoticed. With power now restored, I urge you to resume your activities with renewed energy as we continue working together to improve electricity infrastructure across Nambale Constituency.

Today, at the Bukhayo Central Location Chief’s Office in Malanga, I had the honour of issuing official uniforms to 31 village elders from Bukhayo Central Location;marking the final group in this important exercise.

I am glad to have realized my quest of adorning official uniforms to 274 village elders across the four Locations/Wards in Nambale Constituency.

With this dream visualised, I am now focused on the next step: ensuring that our village elders receive a monthly stipend. The relevant Bill is already before the National Parliament, currently at the public participation stage, where it has my full support.

Earlier today, I had the honour of attending the official launch of the Nambale Sub Location Community-Based Organisation (CBO) at Centre B village, Nambale Township Ward and thereafter, their first joint table banking harambee. This remarkable initiative brings together local residents with a shared vision of empowering one another through unity, savings, and development.

Later in the day, alongside Busia County Governor, Hon.Dr. Paul Otuoma,I attended Kinjabi Welfare Association harambee also in Nambale Township Ward. The community here is raising funds to purchase land for commercial purposes- a clear sign of their determination to invest in their own future and create sustainable income streams that will benefit generations to come.

I commend the leadership of these groups for mobilising residents towards meaningful economic empowerment. These moves are a true testament to the power of collective effort and grassroots solutions that uplift our communities from within.

Mr.Wycliffe Okolodi, hailing from Market B village,Lupida Sub location in Bukhayo North/Walatsi Ward, broke his leg a while ago and has since been using home-made crutches. These makeshift crutches, though a show of his resilience, were heavy and not recommended for safe mobility.

Today, I was able to facilitate a new pair of proper crutches for Wycliffe. This will greatly improve his movement, comfort, and safety as he continues to heal.

It’s my hope that this small gesture will make his daily life a bit easier.I wish Wycliffe a quick recovery and strength in the days ahead.

Today in Malanga, I joined the family, friends, and the wider Malanga Market community in Bukhayo Central Ward to lay to rest the late Sophia Atieno Owiro.

Sophia was a remarkable business lady whose presence at Malanga Market brought warmth and unity among traders. She will be remembered for her generosity, resilience, and unwavering support for everyone around her. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.

As we say our final goodbye, we pray that her family finds comfort and strength during this difficult time. May her soul rest in perfect peace, and may her legacy continue to inspire us all.

I’m pleased to share an update on the ongoing construction of Mungatsi Market under the Economic Stimulus Program in Bukhayo East Ward. This project represents a significant milestone for our local traders, who have long deserved a modern, safe, and accessible place to do business.

Once completed, Mungatsi Market will feature upgraded stalls, a reliable supply of clean water, proper sanitation facilities, and improved security - creating a dignified environment where businesses can thrive.

This initiative reflects our strong commitment to empowering small traders and driving sustainable economic growth across our community.
