On International Peace Day, Slum Girls Struggle for Dignity as Sanitary Pad Prices Soar
As the world marks International Peace Day, a day meant to celebrate harmony and equality, the reality for many girls living in urban slums tells a different story—one of silent suffering and unending struggle.

In places where poverty is part of daily life, young girls face a monthly crisis that robs them of dignity and opportunity. The rising cost of sanitary pads has made it nearly impossible for many to afford this most basic necessity. What should be a simple routine becomes a source of anxiety, shame, and lost opportunities.

According to Jacky wa pad the situation has forced some girls to miss school during their periods, while others resort to unsafe alternatives such as old rags or tissue paper—practices that can lead to infections and long-term health complications.

On a day when the world reflects on peace and justice, these girls are a reminder that peace also means access to life’s basic needs. Without affordable sanitary products, the dream of equality remains far from reality.

8-Days bicycle Ride from Ngong to Kigali Rwanda
Dominion Cycling Club has officially set off on an 8-day bicycle ride to Kigali, Rwanda, in a noble mission that blends passion for cycling with a cause for humanity.

The Prophecy
The Lord revealed to me a message concerning Karangu wa Muraya—that God has appointed him as a vessel to unite all Wakurino for His glory. In obedience, I reached out to him, but he ignored my call. I also reached out to Muigai wa Njoroge, yet he too did not respond.

But hear this: the Word of God cannot be stopped. What the Lord has purposed will surely come to pass—whether through them, or through another whom He will raise to fulfill this divine assignment.

Let those who have ears hear what the Spirit is saying.

The Auditor-General’s report on Kajiado County’s emergency funds expenditure for the 2024/2025 financial year has raised serious accountability concerns. According to the report:

KSh 6 million was spent on relief food without payment vouchers or beneficiary details.

KSh 2 million was allocated for water-trucking services, yet there were no records of vehicle registration numbers, water capacity, or distribution details.

An additional KSh 13 million was incurred without supporting documentation, including invoices, meeting minutes, completion certificates, police reports, or beneficiary contacts.

These findings point to significant gaps in financial management and transparency within the county administration. Emergency funds are meant to cushion vulnerable households during times of crisis—not to vanish into unsupported expenditures.

Part 2: The Glove is Off as Hon. Ngatho Exposes Kajiado County Emergency Department
The battle lines have been drawn as Hon. Ngatho takes his fight a notch higher, exposing what he terms as blatant misuse of funds by the Kajiado County Emergency Department. According to Ngatho, millions meant for emergencies have been diverted into questionable projects like toilet construction and other unexplained expenditures, with no receipts or invoices to back up the spending.

“The people deserve accountability. You cannot play politics with emergency funds while residents continue to suffer,” Ngatho declared.

He further claimed that his bold stance has made him a target of political attacks, yet his track record in Olkeri speaks for itself. Ngatho insists that he will not back down, vowing to continue championing transparency and fighting for the people.

A somber mood has engulfed umoja village (Mathare) Ngong after a three-year-old boy lost his life in a fire that broke out in their home at around 11pm last night.

According to neighbors, the boy and his elder sibling had been left alone in the house when the incident occurred. It is alleged that the blaze started from a candle that had been lit earlier in the evening. Reports indicate that the firstborn child woke up in the night to drink water, and in the process, the candle may have triggered the fire that quickly spread through the house.

The younger child was trapped inside and consumed by the raging flames before neighbors could rescue him. The firstborn, however, managed to escape the inferno and raise alarm, drawing the attention of residents who rushed to the scene in a desperate attempt to contain the fire.

Despite their efforts, the house and most belongings were reduced to ashes. Neighbors described the incident as heartbreaking, noting that the children’s parents were not at home at the time of the tragedy.

HON. STEPHEN NGATHO 3 YEARS IN OFFICE...Part 2 Hon Ngatho Expose the emergency department
In the last three years, I have achieved close to 50% of my development agenda. In my first year alone, I constructed 30 roads and opened new ones to ease accessibility for our people. I have also built ECDE classrooms, ablution blocks, and even an ECDE kitchen to strengthen early childhood learning. Beyond education, I have carried out finishing works at market stalls and undertaken cabro paving to improve the business environment. To enhance security and allow our traders to operate longer hours, I have also installed streetlights in key areas.

Every financial year, despite the challenges of delayed funds from the executive, I have worked tirelessly to follow up on my development allocations and ensure they are put to good use for the benefit of our community.

Looking ahead, I remain fully committed to completing the remaining 50% of my development agenda so that together, we can continue building a stronger, better, and more prosperous future for all.
