Officer Klinzy Masinde Baraza—who fatally shot mask vendor Boniface Kariuki Mwangi in Nairobi on June 17—stood in court trembling, in tears, with only his family by his side.

Not a single representative from the National Police Service came to stand with him.

Let this be a stark reminder:
When you pull the trigger, you’ll answer for it alone.
When you follow unlawful orders, you’ll face the consequences alone.
And while you sit behind bars, those who gave the commands will be home with their families—while yours visit you in prison.

Think before you act. Accountability has no backers.

Hon. Caleb Amisi makes a valid point: the government must genuinely engage with the concerns raised by Gen Z. This is perhaps one of the most pragmatic statements we’ve heard since this administration took office.

However, the real challenge isn’t just about President Ruto’s willingness to listen—it’s about the feasibility of the demands being presented. While the frustrations of young Kenyans are justified, demanding an immediate resignation is not a practical solution. No sitting leader, regardless of the pressure, will willingly step down without structured and legal processes.
Meaningful change requires dialogue, not ultimatums. If the goal is real reform, then the conversation must shift from unrealistic demands to actionable solutions. Gen Z’s energy and passion are undeniable—but to drive lasting impact, strategy must meet substance.

DEAR KENYANS

I still remember when this man would weep in church every Sunday—and we wept with him.
I remember how he shared his pain, telling us how he was betrayed and humiliated by Uhuru Kenyatta, despite everything he had done for him—and we believed him.

I remember his campaign promises—how he vowed to uplift hustlers and empower mama mbogas. We placed our trust in his words.
And when he won the election, we poured into the streets, full of hope and gratitude, believing that change had finally come.

But now…
He’s turned against the very people who stood by him.
He’s overseeing a brutal crackdown on our youth—ordering abductions, beatings, and killings.
He’s buying loyalty in Parliament to pass oppressive bills.
He’s looting public resources for personal enrichment.
He’s weaponized our security agencies to serve his interests, not the people’s.

Who did we vote for?

The blood of innocent Kenyan youth is on his hands.

We may not be able to remove him from office today—but history is watching. One day, justice will come. This will not last forever.

Let’s stand united. Let’s love and protect each other as Kenyans. Let’s rise and work together to reclaim our country. 🇰🇪✊🏽
