Celebrating 3 Years of ICT Transformation under President William Ruto
Under President Ruto, Kenya’s ICT sector has seen remarkable growth. 22,486 km of government fibre and 30,454 km by private sector connect communities nationwide. 1,578 Wi-Fi hotspots and 404 digital hubs empower youth with access and skills.
21,372 devices have been distributed, while 3.5 million are manufactured locally, boosting learning and creating jobs. 297,866 digital jobs have been created, with 1.89 million youth trained in coding, AI, and cloud computing. Studio Mashinani recordings rose from 229 to 834, giving young creatives platforms to shine.
Government services are now digitized: 21,535 services online, up from 353, and monthly revenue increased from KES 1.45b to KES 8.2b, ensuring efficiency and transparency. The creative economy thrives with 1,717 students trained and 605 productions supported in film, music, gaming, and design.
Overall, 390,000 youth employed through hubs and Wi-Fi, internet pe*******on hits 40 million users, positioning Kenya as Africa’s digital hub.
