Hepatitis B the most dangerous viral thing affecting liver cells causing cirrhosis (drying up) and cancer.
It's estimated that world over 14 million people are infected by the potentially dangerous Hepatitis B virus.
The virus inhabitates the liver exhibiting express asymptomatically or symptoms in both chronic and acute phases.
The virus is most commonly transmitted from mother to child during birth and delivery, as well as through contact with blood or other body fluids..
Symptoms of hepatitis B may not appear until a few weeks to a few months after infection, and can include fatigue, fever, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, dark urine, pale stools, joint pain, and jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes).
Chronic Hepatitis B can lead to serious health issues, like cirrhosis or liver cancer. There is no specific treatment for acute hepatitis B. Care is aimed at maintaining comfort and adequate nutritional balance, including replacement of fluids lost from vomiting and diarrhoea.
People who Test negative and have never been vaccinated should get vaccinated against Hepatitis B.
There is limited literature on cure though management of potentially dangerous
Hepatitis B viral infection by Antiviral medications can help fight the virus and slow its ability to damage the liver
However, the infection can be prevented by currently available safe and effective vaccine, which is recommended for all infants at birth and for children and adults at risk.
People with chronic Hepatitis B infection require medical evaluation and regular monitoring : HB core eAg, DNA HBV load & genetyphing/ sequencing.
