AS IN THE DAYS OF NOAH LOT
Jesus Himself made this comparison in Matthew 24:37–39:
“As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man…”
Let’s look at why the days of Noah are compared to the days of Jesus’ return:
🔹 1. Sudden Judgment
In Noah’s time, people lived normally — eating, drinking, marrying — until the flood suddenly came.
At Jesus’ return, people will also be living their daily lives, unaware, until sudden judgment comes.
👉 Both show the danger of spiritual unpreparedness.
🔹 2. Widespread Wickedness
Genesis 6:5 says, “Every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.”
In the last days, sin, violence, immorality, and rebellion against God will increase (2 Timothy 3:1–5).
👉 A world full of corruption and godlessness parallels both eras.
🔹 3. Few Believers
In Noah’s day, only Noah and his family entered the ark — a small remnant was saved.
In the last days, the true followers of Christ will be few compared to the whole world (Matthew 7:14 — “narrow is the road that leads to life, and only a few find it”).
🔹 4. God Provides a Way of Escape
God gave Noah the ark as a way of salvation.
God has given us Christ, the true Ark, to save us from judgment.
👉 Just as the ark was the only safe place during the flood, Jesus is the only safe place in the coming judgment.
🔹 5. People Ignored the Warning
Noah preached righteousness for years, but people mocked and ignored him.
Today, many ignore the gospel and mock Christians who speak about Jesus’ return.
👉 The parallel is clear: unbelief and hardness of heart.
✅ Summary:
The days of Noah symbolize:
Normal life with no expectation of judgment
Widespread sin and corruption
A small faithful remnant
God’s grace providing salvation
Sudden judgment falling on the unprepared
In the same way, when Jesus returns, many will be caught off guard — only those who are in Christ, the true Ark, will be safe.
