On Saturday, during the final match between JOBO and Musingu at Mumias Sports Complex, a moment of unexpected drama unfolded involving former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala.
Malala initially attempted to access the stadium to watch the highly anticipated game but was denied entry. Security personnel at the gate informed him that he should have arrived earlier, before the Governor, H.E. Fernandes Barasa, had made his way into the venue.
Rather than cause a scene, Malala quietly reversed his vehicle and left the premises without resistance. The county security team, including the county commander, assumed the matter had ended and returned to the VIP section to enjoy the match alongside other leaders.
However, just as the first half concluded, Malala made a dramatic comeback—this time arriving in a chopper. The helicopter landed right in the middle of the pitch, stunning the crowd and catching everyone by surprise. He was welcomed by fans.
After being blocked from entry, Malala decided to escalate his return by ordering a chopper to ensure his presence at the stadium would not go unnoticed.
DCI has now summoned Cleophas Malala to record a statement on why he landed at the stadium with a chopper breaking the FKF and match rules.
