We walked in Tashkent and we liked it so much. This Uzbekistan is not the same as we imagined before. Honestly, before this trip we saw only Uzbekistan for several photos - Samarkand. But Tashkent - quite modern, clean, beautiful and very spacious city.

The city has a huge TV tower, and you can get up on it now. But you can rise just on the first floor (its around 100 meters). Also you cant take any photo and video, you should left at the entrance even telephone. Its cost 15$. Not recommend.

You cant come close to many government buildings. Ministry of Justice, Parliament, the Finance Ministry - track them closed, and closer than 50-100 meters tourists are not allowed, but oh well :))

We ate plov in Uzbek, but in fact it is the same as we prepared at home. Also here are very strange sweets - a big sugar crystals with some impurities. Maybe they are grown here as I was once at home in salt glass :)

Too much people in Kazakhstan scared us that Uzbek border is extremely difficult to pass, and me with a beard will not be allowed, or even arrested. They said that people are wild, inadequate, and would be better dont go in Uzbekistan at all. Of course, we decided to check out.

The first time we were faced with the fact, that it was necessary to declare the currency. Dollars, rubles, hryvnia, tenge, soma - everything we have.

Again, I communicate with man from state intelligence, but it was more relaxed than on the Kazakhstan - Kyrgyz border, where we staged interrogation. Also we were surprised the fact that our backpacks have missed only a tape-scanner, and did not open.

Even on the road often we hear something like this:
"Oh, it's dangerous," "I do not know the language, I would not have been able to go", "you hitchhiking? You did no one take, it is good that I am the only one here was driving, more so do not risk," "I would have gone, but" etc. etc.
It is not necessary seek go somewhere, especially if you stop thinking about what in the world a few good people and no foreign language, you will not be able to live in another country. Dont believe that everything said about other peoples and countries is true. Check yourself!

From Bishkek to Tashkent, we decided to split the path, and stay again in Taraz in a familiar and very hospitable Tatar family.
We tried national Tatar dishes - Chakchak and Echpochmak.
Once again we see that the CouchSurfing and hitchhiking much better not just for saving money, but also many moments that you can not feel if you travel on your own car or public transport, and live in hotels or hostels.

Near Taraz policeman picked us and drove 10 kilometers to his police post. Then he told us to wait in the car while he catch a car for us. He stoped a bus, which was traveling from Urumqi (China) in Shymkent.
It was the most unusual bus that we have seen before - there ware beds inside!) We were even given Fleece Blankets!))) In addition, the people there made a real farce. Absolutely all people in the bus was communicated - shouting from the beginning to the end of the bus, which also unusual for us when you consider the fact that one trip to each other is not all known. Besides stuff for resale, each bought himself some medical alcohol garbage, still floating inside the bottle bunch of herbs and the body of a snake.

We went sooooo long. One someone get out, and pulling out bags took half an hour, then something else.
Eventually, 200 km we drove 7 hours !! Of course, it was fun and comfortable, but..

Arriving in Shymkent, there was 100 km to the border, so we came with the three direct connections quickly and comfortably, while still on the road and we were fed at a roadside cafe)

P.S. In Shymkent on the counter, we found the sausage, jelly, which looked very ugly))

It is situated in the center of Bishkek, in the Panfilov Park where footpaths form a huge pentagram that can be seen on any map.

Starting from the border felt bad smell. In Bishkek, the smell is also present, but less and everywhere.

Many right-hand drive Japanese cars, then they are incredibly cheap. Honda or Toyota in excellent condition can be purchased for $ 1000-2000. So even in the broken, almost shanty houses in the courtyard is a nice car.

There is very popular Soviet Union singer from 80's Shatunov in Kazakhstan. Seriously, from 30+ car in which we drove through the KZ, in half of them played Shatunov. In others - a young Kazakh sings about Aaaaastanaaaaa, Astanaaaa.

Its very hard to get out of the city, becouse of taxi-drivers. They like crazy, worn all day in the city and stop near everything that moves.
But sometimes, even taxi drivers, may ride you free.
This is probably very helpful backpacks.

Another good things about people

Passer offered to stay at his house, if we don't have place to sleep. Driver invite us to have dinner in his house. People ride in the city right under our house, than turn around and went the other way.

Raised in the mountains in the mountain viewing platform. From town to mountain you can be reached by shuttle bus for 80 tenge ($ 0.45) for one person. We drove through all the city, more than one hour. But near mountain stand the bus, who are willing to bring you by the road just 900 meters for 500 tenge (2,5$). Fu***ng s**t, right?)))
So we are walked, thats all right.
There was a cableway, but its closed till June 2015.
On top there is a mini-zoo, a monument to the Beatles, very cool PHOTOSALON (Example 4 works in the photo) and several viewing platform with good views.
Near a huge tower, but the road is different. We tried to get close to her, thinking maybe someone will take us on the balcony high up in the tower, but at the entrance checkpoint, and we went out to meet the two guys with guns. So, we have to go back :(

For 36 hours, we hitchhiked 1700km from Aktobe to Taraz. On the way we stopped and walked around Turkestan and Shymkent.

Starting from Turkestan along the road stretch beautiful mountains, so boring lifeless steppe species became much more interesting.
From Turkistan to Shymkent rode on the bus that stopped near our own, when we have not even had time to get out of town on the road, and said that we can drive for free. So we drove them 160km. Our Ukrainian bus driver hang himself for a penny, and here is so sweet.
