Ginger Shampoo at Kactus

On Koh Ta Kiev you can find Ginger Shampoo (Zingiber zerumbet), a tropical plant known for its natural use as a hair wash. By gently pressing the red flower cone, it releases a clear liquid with a soft, fresh scent.

This liquid works as a natural shampoo and skin conditioner. The plant is not harmed in the process – we don’t cut or damage it. Pressing the flower is enough, and it continues to grow normally.

It’s one of the many examples of how nature provides simple solutions, still alive on the island today.

We are so pleased to announce that Kactus - Your Island Sanctuary will be participating in the 9th Edition of World Wellness Weekend!

One month exactly from now & coinciding with Pchum Ben Festival in Cambodia as well as World Cleanup Day - Kactus Koh Ta Kiev will offer FREE Wellness Activities for EVERYONE!

This project was started to create awareness about the different types of Wellness that exist in our World, and how it should be accessible to all! Not only for those who can afford to take care of their mental and physical health.

We have achieved the status of Wellness HERO as we will be offered 3 free activities for our guests during that weekend, as well as combining forces with staff and guests to do a Beach clean-up and sorting of various plastics, and finally, we will host a teambuilding exercise, "Survivor" to better liason our team, to problem solve together and reach new heights!

As we truly dive into the World of Wellness, making Kactus a place to reset, remind, and reconnect ourselves with Mother Nature and with our own powers as humans.

We crossed broken bridges,
and ended at the river mouth —
where a freshwater source meets the sea.
