NPCI International Payments Limited (NIPL), the international arm of National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), in partnership with ACLEDA Bank Plc. has announced the launch of Unified Payments Interface (UPI) acceptance in Cambodia through KHQR, Cambodia’s national QR code.

Indian Travellers can now make payments in Cambodia

The launch was marked by a formal ceremony held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, attended by H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC); and representatives from the Reserve Bank of India. The event marked the official launch of the first phase of cross-border QR payment linkage between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of India.

Indian users can now scan Bakong’s KHQR, Cambodia’s standard and interoperable QR code system, at over 4.5 million merchant outlets to make secure and seamless QR-based payments across tourist attractions, restaurants, retail outlets and other establishments using their UPIenabled apps.....

urges India to explore bilateral trade agreement to further boost trade ties

A senior official at the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) has urged India to further explore the potential in Cambodian market by establishing a negotiating team to arrive at a bilateral preferential trade agreement for the benefit of both countries.

Cambodia, Vietnam pledge to boost bilateral trade three-fold​

Cambodia and Vietnam have agreed to establish a joint mixed trade commission aimed at promoting the growth of bilateral trade, with the goal of reaching $20 billion in the near future. In 2024, trade between the two countries reached almost $7.8 billion.

This agreement was revealed during a courtesy meeting between Cambodian Minister of Commerce Cham Nimul and Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, held on April 28 in Hanoi, as a Cambodian delegation attended the Cambodia-Vietnam Bilateral Meeting.....

Emirates expands global network with the official introduction of three new destinations: in , in , and in

Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, is set to further strengthen its presence across Asia with the launch of daily non-stop flights between Dubai and Shenzhen from 1 July 2025*. The airline will also introduce four weekly services to Da Nang on 2 June and three weekly flights to Siem Reap from 3 June with both cities connecting via Bangkok.

The addition of Shenzhen, Da Nang and Siem Reap, puts Emirates ahead of the curve with the largest and most diversified route network among any non-Asian airline in East Asia, offering 269 flights per week from Dubai to 24 points.
