PANCH-6-7 month-old baby monkey
Abandoned at Birth: Shortly after he was born, his mother rejected him, and he was initially unable to integrate with the other monkeys at the zoo.
Plush Toy Companion: To provide comfort, zookeepers gave him a plush orangutan doll. Videos of the tiny monkey clinging to the stuffed toy as a surrogate mother went viral worldwide.
Current Status: Now approximately 6-7 months old, Punchi-kun is in the process of being introduced to a new troop of monkeys, though he reportedly still seeks comfort from his human caregivers and his doll.
