In response to a raft of illegal activities, especially online scams, found operating in houses, condominiums, apartments and farms, the government has introduced legal measures applicable to business owners and government officials who intentionally conceal foreigners who have illegally entered the Kingdom.

The government has expanded security oversight of residential compounds through a new sub-decree that penalises landlords and officials who conceal undocumented foreigners, following mass online scam raids, with analysts stating it is a step to rebuilding the country’s international reputation
